Inspire student designs! These 1-lane maglev tracks stacked on 2-levels (8-ft., assembled) uses an innovative keel base for vehicles that eliminates the need for side rails. Students can compare two designs at the same time from an unique viewpoint.
This key design change offers several benefits:
- Unobstructed View: Students can easily observe the levitating effects of the magnets.
- Wider Vehicle Designs: Without side rails limiting width, there's no risk of wider vehicles getting wedged in the track.
- Reduced Friction: Experience smoother, faster magnetic levitation runs.
In addition to magnetic levitation, the track adapts to traditional physics and engineering experiments using alternate power sources. Students can test their vehicles using gravity and tilt, rubber bands and propellers, on-board batteries, sails with a blowing fan, springs, or manual pushing.
Easily electrify the track using the KELVIN® Variable Power Supply (sold separately, 842639). The built-in power supply display lets students safely view the exact voltage being applied to the rails.
A built-in safety bumper at the end of the track prevents vehicles from flying off the guide way and protects your equipment from damage.
