Enhance your robotics program, technology class, or science exploration and introduce students to the revolutionary future of transportation - Autonomous Cars (A Self-Driving Robotic Car)
Build a basic robotic car that measures 17 x 18 cm when assembled. Once built, the car can be taken apart and rebuilt by the next group. Ideal for students in grades 6-9 with teacher support.
Upon combining the Car Chassis with the Motor Control Pack, it is ready to be programmed; which is the main activity of this project.FREE software can be downloaded from Arduino or other graphic-oriented programming alternatives. KELVIN® does not provide programming software or related learning materials.Programming is self taught in the Arduino® environment using their free to download software on your computer.Search the internet for other FREE programing alternatives such as: ArduBlock, Minibloq, Mixly, Scratch for Arduino, and Xod. These are also many free video tutorials on YouTube to help your students learn Arduino® and alternative programs.Students program the car to move on a path with commands to go forward, left, right, and turn. When the car hits an obstacle, the sensors are activated and students must decide the next steps in order to reach the destination
