The toxicological effect of pollution in seawater is determined by using Artemia franciscana in this experiment which has been adapted from a water quality test. A simulated "toxicant" is provided to simulate pollution in the ocean. Digestion and hydrolysis of a fluorescent substrate by Artemia is observed by using long wave ultraviolet light.
Experiment includes: complete instructions, Artemia Franciscana Diapause Cysts, Artificial Sea Salt for Culture, Fluorescent Detection Substrate, Simulated Toxicant Concentrate, 1 molded Exposure Chamber (note: 10 required), 10 Wide bore Plastic Pipets, 10 Calibrated Plastic Pipets, and 15 ml tube. For 10 Groups.
